Lieutenant Haj was a conn officer on the USS Defiant during the Dominion War.

During the ship's mission to destroy a Dominion sensor array in the Argolis Cluster, Haj was injured and Doctor Bashir had to take over conn. (DS9: "Behind the Lines")
