Hot Wheels is a brand name for Mattel's die-cast toys, first used by the company in 1968.
In 2008 it was revealed that Mattel had acquired a license to produce merchandise based on the Star Trek franchise. Amongst the lines announced were a series of die-cast models of starships from the franchise. This will include ships from the forthcoming film Star Trek, TV Series, and established films.

[edit] Notes
When first released the packaging for the USS Enterprise NCC-1701 (refit) originally read USS Enterprise NCC-1701-A. However the registry number on both the saucer and the warp nacelles lacked the "A", making it a replica of the USS Enterprise NCC-1701 (refit). Hot Wheels later fixed this mistake by removing the “A” on an updated package.
