Humat pods are plant seed pods used in cooking food.

In 2370, Gideon Seyetik served senior staff of Deep Space 9 a dinner of his creation made with half a dozen minced Humat pods, Gremish, Rumall stock, Kalo root, Waroon, Vulcan redspice, ice salt and pepper. The recipe took years to perfect, and Chief O'Brien wanted a copy. (DS9: "Second Sight")
