A hunter probe is a small remote controlled device that can be adapted to perform a variety of different actions.

In 2373, Silaran Prin used several hunter probes to carry out his revenge against the members of the Shakaar Resistance Cell who had disfigured him. He hid one probe inside a ceremonial candle and used it to fire a lethal disruptor blast at Latha Mabrin. He also used hunter probes to inject a micro-explosive behind Mobara's ear and plant a remat detonator on Trentin Fala. Finally, he set a hunter probe to locate Furel and Lupaza on Deep Space 9 and then explode against their window, causing their quarters to decompress. (DS9: "The Darkness and the Light")
