An isomolecular scanner is a medical scanning device used by the Cardassians, with superior resolution to a standard Starfleet medical tricorder. Doctor Crell Moset once recommended that Starfleet upgrade to isomolecular scanners at a joint medical conference with the Federation, but he was ignored. (VOY: "Nothing Human")
