Jack was a character in a soap opera viewed by Kes and Neelix, while USS Voyager was trapped in the 20th century.

According to the story, Jack had a twin brother, Blaine, whose mate Jessica was impregnated by Jack. Jack feared that he would be unable to face his brother knowing that his nephew might actually be his son. (VOY: "Future's End")
