Jacques-Yves Cousteau was a 20th century French explorer, environmentalist, and inventor.
The Federation named various shuttle vehicles after him, including the Cousteau, the captain's yacht aboard the USS Enterprise-E, and the Cousteau, a shuttlepod carried aboard the USS Aries. The yacht's dedication plaque contained a quote by Cousteau. (Star Trek: Insurrection)
