Japanese
From Memory Alpha, the free Star Trek reference.
The term Japanese refers to anything originating from the nation-state or location of Japan on Earth, including its people and the Japanese language.
During the Second World War in which the United States was at war with Japan, Japanese-Americans were detained in internment camps, such as Manzanar, for "precautionary measures" due to the United States government's perception of them as a potential threat to its security. (ENT: "Detained")
Hoshi Sato and Keiko Ishikawa were also both of Japanese heritage, and both had parents living in Japan during their lifetimes. Sato was born in Kyōto, Japan. (ENT: "In a Mirror, Darkly, Part II" personnel record; DS9: "Emissary")
Although they were both born in California, Buck Bokai and Hikaru Sulu's ancestors had their roots in Japan. (Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home; DS9: "If Wishes Were Horses")
