Jaron Summers is an author and screenwriter who received writing credit for the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode "The Child" along with Jon Povill and Maurice Hurley. This episode was based on the original script of the same name which Summers co-wrote with Povill for the abandoned Star Trek: Phase II.

Other television shows which Summers has written for include The Incredible Hulk, Buck Rogers in the 25th Century, CHiPs, Hart to Hart, and Miami Vice. He also adapted his own novel, The Soda Cracker, for a 1989 film starring and directed by Fred Williamson. More recently, he co-wrote the 1992 film Killer Image.

Summers has written several novels, including St. Maarten, Mall, and Safety Catch. He is also the author of numerous short fiction stories.
