Jerry Summers

Jerry Summers (3 February 19311 January 2006; age 74) was a Hollywood stuntman and actor who performed stunts on Star Trek: The Original Series. He was Walter Koenig's stunt double during the second season episode "The Trouble with Tribbles".

Summers's stunt career also includes such television series as Gunsmoke, Bonanza, I Spy, Kojak, and The Dukes of Hazzard. He has also performed stunts for such films as Spartacus (1960), The Great Berets (1968), The French Connection (1971), The Poseidon Adventure (1972), Blazing Saddles (1974), Marathon Man (1976), The In-Laws (1979), Throw Momma from the Train (1987), Midnight Run (1988), and Alien Nation (1988).

As an actor, Summers appeared in several of the films and TV shows for which he served as stuntman, but may best be remembered for his recurring role as Ira on the Western series The Chaparral during the 1967-68 season. One of his co-stars on this series was Star Trek: The Next Generation and Voyager guest actor Henry Darrow.

Summers died in Arroyo Grande, California in 2006 at the age of 74.
