Joel Goldsmith (born 19 November 1957; age 51) is a composer of film, television, and video game music. He is the son of renowned Star Trek composer Jerry Goldsmith.
Joel Goldsmith's first foray into Star Trek was being in the sound effects team for Star Trek: The Motion Picture; the score was written by his father, Jerry. In 1995, Goldsmith rearranged and performed alternate versions of his father's theme for Star Trek: Voyager, which was released as Star Trek: Voyager - "Main Title". For Star Trek: First Contact, Goldsmith again worked with his father creating additional music for the film.
