K.L. Gifford was a Starfleet officer in the year 2370, the captain of the Federation starship USS Min'ow. Under Gifford's command, the vessel visited planet Zero, and was due to arrive at Deep Space 9 on stardate 47566.1, according to an arrival roster in that station's library computer. (DS9: "Whispers")
This character, appearing only as an item of a computer okudagram, was apparently named as an in-joke for Kathie Lee Gifford.
