The Kadi are a humanoid species native to the Delta Quadrant, often considered a very conservative race, very strict in their indulgences.

Kadi physiology lacks a common enzyme which breaks down synthehol, making it non-alcoholic. Drinking beverages that contain synthehol cause them to become "drunk."

In 2375, the USS Voyager had a diplomatic event with the Kadi. Captain Janeway and Lt. Commander Tuvok, in full dress uniform and wearing a sash of the United Federation of Planets, beamed down to their planet with Ambassador Abbot. At the same time, a Kadi monk, Tomin, was to explore the cultural aspects of Voyager. In Kadi society, males and females work separately, so Ambassador Tomin found the females aboard Voyager stimulating. (VOY: "Someone to Watch Over Me")
