The Kaladian thorn flower is a variety of plant grown in the arboretum aboard the USS Enterprise-D.

In 2367, Doctor Balthus wanted to do a study on the laticifer ontogen of the Kaladian thorn flower and wanted Keiko O'Brien to oversee the project. Keiko didn't have the time to do so, however. (TNG: "Night Terrors")
