Kavis Alpha system

Kavis Alpha system was, prior to 2366, an uninhabited star system in Federation space and was located in a sector of the same name.
This sector, along with others such as the Sol sector, suggest sectors are named after a prominent star.
In 2366, with the persuasion of Paul Stubbs, the Federation approved that a civilization of nanites be relocated from the starship USS Enterprise-D to the fourth planet in this system. (TNG: "Evolution")
