Larr was a Menk medical orderly who helped Dr. Phlox when he came to a Menk village to look for a cure for a plague affecting the Valakian, the other humanoid race on the planet. Larr convinced Phlox that the Menk were not as backward as the Valakians made them out be be. The Menk had great perception powers and were able to learn very quickly. He picked up some English simply by listening to the crewmembers converse, and organized some blood samples in a sophisticated way. The plague affecting the Valakians was a genetic virus and a natural form of evolution on the planet, which the Menk would inherit. (ENT: "Dear Doctor")
