Lycia Naff (born 29 August 1962; age 47) played the role of Ensign Sonya Gomez in the Star Trek: The Next Generation episodes "Q Who" and "Samaritan Snare".

According to Naff, she was told by the show's producers that her character was initially conceived as a possible love interest for Geordi La Forge, but that story line was never pursued. One of Naff's more memorable scenes was when she first meets Patrick Stewart's character and literally bumps into him, spilling a drink all over his uniform. Her character was well-established for two consecutive episodes, but then was abruptly never seen or referred to again as part of the Enterprise-D crew.

In 1990, Naff was nominated for a Daytime Emmy in the category "Outstanding Performer in a Children's Special" for her role in The Perfect Date.

Naff also appeared briefly in Total Recall as the three-breasted mutant on Mars, as well as a prostitute in the original Lethal Weapon movie. She started her career as a dancer on the television show Fame. She also had a recurring role on the short-lived television series, The Flash and appeared in the horror comedy Chopper Chicks in Zombietown (aka Cycle Sluts; 1989; with Earl Boen and Rob King; stunts by Dennis Madalone)

In recent years she has also entered the field of journalism, writing for several newspapers and magazines, including a staff position at the Miami Herald in Miami, Florida. She currently writes The Dish column for US tabloid publication The Globe.
