McMann was a crewman serving aboard USS Voyager during its tenure in the Delta Quadrant. In 2376, McMann was injured by a power surge caused by an electromagnetic life-form occupying Voyager, after he and crewman Gibson attempted to vent toxic gas from deck seven.
