Mekorda sector

The Mekorda sector is a sector of space.

In 2370, the USS Enterprise-D searched this sector for potential Federation colony sites, but many of the stars in the sector are binary stars without M-class planets, so the search was unsuccessful. The Enterprise also had to endure a magnascopic storm here, which indirectly led to the birth of a new lifeform. (TNG: "Emergence")
