Mercassium

Mercassium was a synthetic composite used in shield generator construction; a technology unshared outside of the Federation. Traces of mercassium were found in the debris of the Bok'Nor, which were later found to be from the casing of the explosive device used in destroying the freighter. (DS9: "The Maquis, Part I")
