This male Human captain of the Merchantman was chartered by Valkris to deliver information about the Genesis Device to Commander Kruge in 2285. The entire Merchantman crew, along with Valkris, were killed when Kruge ordered the starship destroyed upon delivery of the information. (Star Trek III: The Search for Spock)

The captain was played by Paul Sorenson.

The script suggests that the Merchantman was in Organian space when it was attacked and destroyed, possibly indicating this species came from that region as well.
