Metron Consortium

The Metron Consortium was the governing body of a powerful race of beings called Metrons. Its exact location is uncertain, but the Consortium made contact with the United Federation of Planets and the Gorn in 2267. A Metron transfered Captain James T. Kirk and a Gorn captain from the disputed planet Cestus III to an unnamed world and observed them fighting. When the Metron saw that Kirk spared the Gorn captain's life, he stated that the Metrons might be ready to make contact with the Federation in a thousand years. (TOS: "Arena")

In 2373 the Consortium signed a trade agreement with the Verillians. (DS9: "Business as Usual")
