The Minarian star system was a star system that contained several inhabited planets with a population in the millions.
In 2268 this system's star began to go nova destroying all life in this system. A species known as the Vians was able to save one and only one of the planets in the system, and chose the empathic Minarans due to their healing ability and capacity for self-sacrificing compassion. (TOS: "The Empath")
