(written from a Production point of view)

Monopoly is a popular "property trading" board game produced by Parker Brothers (now a subsidiary of Hasbro). The game's basic object is to acquire the most money and properties, often bankrupting your opponents in the process.

Often – either itself or through licensees – special "themed" versions of the game are produced for different franchises. Board game company USAopoly has produced three such games for the Star Trek franchise:

In 1999 a Star Trek TNG monopoly with the autographs of all TNG main cast members was auctioned off on the Galaxy Ball, a charity event held for the Down Syndrome Association of Los Angeles. The winner sold $250.00 for the board game. The auction was presented by several cast members of Star Trek: Voyager, including Kate Mulgrew, Robert Beltran, Tim Russ, Robert Duncan McNeill, and Ethan Phillips.
