A movie theater was set up in the mess hall for the crew's rest time aboard Enterprise. The theater usually showed "classic" black and white movies. Trip Tucker was the one who usally set up the movie nights for the crew. Enterprise had 50,000 movies in its database. (ENT: "Cold Front")

In 2377, Tom Paris and Ensign Tabor worked on creating a holodeck simulation of the 1932 Palace Theater in Chicago so that the crew of the USS Voyager could have a night out to the movies. While working alone in the holodeck on this program Tabor was attacked by Tuvok who was under the influence of Teero Anaydis. (VOY: "Repression")
