Multiphasic chamber

The multiphasic chamber is a stasis chamber equipped with a multiphasic force field, constructed by the USS Equinox crew to contain nucleogenic lifeforms for study. After finding that the lifeforms could not survive long in this universe, they modified the chamber with a polaron grid and a submolecular resequencer, to convert the lifeforms' remains into a crystalline energy source for their warp drive.

After their rescue by the USS Voyager, the Equinox crew attempted to hide the chamber by flooding the research lab where it was located with thermionic radiation. However, The Doctor examined the chamber and learned what they had done. (VOY: "Equinox")
