The patrol leader was a villager who led a patrol in an attempt to ambush Tyree, the head of the Hill People. The attempt failed, when James T. Kirk alerted Tyree. He later killed Nona, wife of Tyree, when he thought she led him into a trap. (TOS: "A Private Little War")
The patrol leader was played by Paul Baxley.

Several hill people accompanied, Tyree and Yutan when Kirk explained to Tyree how to use a flintlock weapon. They took part in target practice with the weapon. (TOS: "A Private Little War")
The hill people were played by unknown actors.
