(written from a Production point of view)

Nicole Treston Abranian is an up-and-coming filmmaker who worked on 2009's Star Trek as part of the Directors Guild-Producer Training Plan. She was part of the Training Plan's class of 2006, as was her fellow Star Trek DGA trainee Lauren Pasternack. [1]. She is an alumni of the University of California at Los Angeles. [2]

Before joining the DGA training program, Abranian was an office production assistant on the 2003 film S.W.A.T. (featuring Reg E. Cathey and Bruce Gray) and a set staff assistant on the 2004 film Starsky & Hutch (starring Fred Williamson). [3] Incidentally, both of these films were based on 1970s television series that aired on ABC. Abranian then worked as a production assistant on the 2006 remake of the 1979 film When a Stranger Calls.

As a DGA trainee, Abranian has participated in the production of the television series Gilmore Girls, Criminal Minds, and Saving Grace. She also worked on the upcoming comedy film All About Steve.
