Noah Lessing was a Human Starfleet Crewman who was stationed on board the USS Equinox when it was pulled into the Delta Quadrant by the Caretaker.

He had a sister, whom he took to McKinley Park when they were children. They watched a family of ground squirrels who lived near a patch of poison ivy. When he was ten, he walked through the poison ivy and swelled up like a Regellian blood worm.

Lessing survived the first few years of the vessel's voyage through the quadrant, until the USS Voyager caught up with the Equinox.

During the conflict between the two Starfleet ships, Captain Kathryn Janeway captured Lessing, who assisted Janeway in finding the Ankari. He subsequently joined the Voyager crew, but was stripped of his rank. (VOY: "Equinox", "Equinox, Part II")
