"Mr. Adventure"

"Mr. Adventure" was a Starfleet lieutenant junior grade posted to the transporter room at Old City Station in 2285. He worked the late shift with Commander Uhura. In a conversation with her, he expressed his amazement at her decision to choose her posting at what he referred to as "the worst duty station in town." Unlike her, he would have preferred a posting that offered more challenges and surprises. Aware of the impending visit from her old crewmates, she warned him to be careful what he wished for.

Upon the sudden appearance of James T. Kirk, "Mr. Adventure" immediately recognized him, and expressed his confusion as to what he was doing there, as there were no corresponding destination orders or encoded IDs. He was then forced to sit in the closet while Uhura, whom he thought had lost her mind, illegally beamed Kirk, Sulu and McCoy to the USS Enterprise. (Star Trek III: The Search for Spock)

"Mr. Adventure" was played by actor Scott McGinnis.
The novelization of Star Trek III: The Search for Spock gives his name as Heisenberg; it also mentions that the reason Uhura locked him in the closet was to protect his career, so that Starfleet would not blame him for what happened. The novel Catalyst of Sorrows gives his first name as Scott.
McGinnis' undershirt was sold off on the It's A Wrap! sale and auction on eBay. [1]
