Ornara was the inhabited third planet of the Delos system. The planet had one moon. This was the homeworld for the Ornarans, a pre-warp spaceflight-capable humanoid species. Its population numbered in the thousands.
In the 22nd century, a Federation scout ship arrived in the system to document it and the indigenous species' development. Due to the trade agreement between the Ornarans and the Brekkians, there was frequent freighter travel between this planet and Brekka.
The planet was found not to be able to sustain growth of a plant from which felicium could be produced, significantly altering the Ornarans' development. (TNG: "Symbiosis")
In 2370, the falsified Starfleet record created for Ro Laren in order to mislead the Maquis during her attempt to infiltrate the group indicated that she was on Ornara following her abandonment of Starfleet. (TNG: "Preemptive Strike")
In 2381, the planet was visited by the USS Cerritos as part of Captain Carol Freeman's initiative Project Swing By. (LD: "Trusted Sources")
