An oven was a way of cooking food so that it would be safe to eat. They were in use on Earth as early as 1986 and continued to be used even into the 24th century, despite the development of replicators.(citation needed • edit)
On Thanksgiving 2266, the chef onboard the USS Enterprise used several ovens to prepare turkey (TOS: "Charlie X")
Neelix also kept an oven in his galley aboard USS Voyager (VOY: "Remember")
