Panavision

Panavision is a motion picture and television equipment company founded in 1953 and formally incorporated the following year. Specializing in cameras and lenses, the company maintains ownership of all its inventory, renting out its equipment to studios rather than selling it. Among their innovations is the Panaflex camera, which was smaller, lighter in weight, and quieter than previous cameras, and could be adapted for hand-held or studio filming.

Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Star Trek: Voyager, all ten Star Trek features, and the first three seasons of Star Trek: Enterprise were filmed using cameras and lenses from Panavision. TNG made specific use of the Panaflex camera.
