Paramount Stage 31 is located on the Paramount Pictures lot in Hollywood, California and was considered Desilu Studios Stage 9 until 1967, when it merged with Paramount.

Stage 31 was used in the production of the original Star Trek, housing all of the sets that represented the interior of the Enterprise.

Unlike future Star Trek TV series, the original Enterprise sets stood on a single stage, a complex of corridors connected to engineering, the transporter room, sickbay and various generic chambers with the main bridge set standing alone near the corner of the stage. The bridge was given a wide berth so there would be adequate room to slide out the pie-shaped wedges that made up its bulkheads.

The sets stood mostly unchanged throughout the Original Series' production, with minor modifications to the corridors and the addition of engineering and the brig.

The living quarters set was often redressed to represent the ship's briefing room and rec room.
