Pattern Suicide

"Pattern Suicide" was the nickname that Miles "Smiley" O'Brien of the mirror universe gave to Benjamin Sisko's order to run the mirror Defiant straight at the Regent's flagship in 2372, after Sisko had earlier introduced the O'Brien to standard Starfleet maneuvers. Sisko's tactic of fighting in-close exploited the size difference between the Defiant and the Regent's flagship by limiting the number of weapons the flagship could bring to bear, and the inability of the larger vessel to attain target lock at close ranges. He was therefore able to inflict significant damage on the flagship without taking a single hit in return. (DS9: "Shattered Mirror")
