Plasmic fiber

Plasmic fibers were part of the bodies of the Tosk species. They enabled the Tosk to store liquid nutrients throughout their bodies, which greatly reduced their need to take in liquids. They had this ability due to being genetically engineered by their creators, the Hunters. (DS9: "Captive Pursuit")
