[edit] Summary
Pocket was the publisher given license by Paramount to produce a series of original novels (and episode novelizations) based on Enterprise starting in 2001. All Enterprise novels and adaptations have been part of this ongoing series.
So far, this has included novelizations of all cliffhanger and premiere episode story arcs and also a series of unnumbered original stories, which follow the general continuity of the series, but aren't necessarily regarded as canon, since the show's storylines frequently contradict facts and events occurring in the novels. The novelizations, in particular, tend to give extra names and information about bit scenes and characters seen in the show, however, these facts cannot be considered as canon either, and usually must be regarded as apocryphal by official studio publications (and canon databases like Memory Alpha) unless they can be proved to be derived from official sources at Paramount.
