Procyon
From Memory Alpha, the free Star Trek reference
Procyon (also Alpha Canis Minoris) was a star system consisting of binary companion stars, Procyon A and Procyon B, located about 11.4 light years from Sol.
Procyon is most notable for the fact that in an alternate future, the battle where the Sphere Builders were defeated was fought here in the 26th century. (ENT: "Azati Prime")
On several occasions in 2364, viewscreen readouts aboard the USS Enterprise-D showed the location of the A and B Procyon stars, in the form of a star chart from the Enterprise library computer. (TNG: "The Naked Now", "Code of Honor", "The Last Outpost", "Conspiracy")
[edit] The Procyon system
[edit] Background
The Enterprise computer's star chart was a drawing by Rick Sternbach that had originally been published, years earlier, on page 77 of the non-canon reference book Spaceflight Chronology. This chart showed Earth commercial and exploration routes after the use of warp drive began. Procyon A and B were not destinations on any of the routes.
Procyon is a real system in the Canis Minor constellation. Modern scientists have determined Procyon A is a sub-giant (spectral class F5 IV-V) star, whereas Procyon B is a white dwarf that orbits it at sixteen AUs.
The non-canon reference work Star Trek: Star Charts theorizes that the Procyon system is the location of Andoria.
