Quantum dating is the act of measuring a particle's age, presumably on a quantum level. Quantum dating has the ability to tell what time period an object is from, past or future. In 2153, Starfleet scientists quantum dated a metal fragment from a Xindi probe to 400 years in the future. The Xindi also possessed this technology, and used it to prove that Archer had an artifact from the future. (ENT: "The Expanse", "Azati Prime")
