Rafin

Rafin was a Vori defender who befriended Chakotay. He was young and inexperienced and was scared. Chakotay befriended him and promised to watch out for him. When he was killed during his first battle, Chakotay became incensed over his death and swore vengeance against the Kradin. In reality, he was a character in a brainwashing scenario that was used to convince Chakotay to fight for the Vori. (VOY: "Nemesis")
