Ray Bradbury was a noted 20th century science fiction author on Earth. During the mid-1950s, his stories were published by a magazine called Galaxy. (DS9: "Far Beyond the Stars")

The 24th century Federation starship, USS Bradbury was named in his honor. (TNG: "Ménage à Troi")
