Rekag system

The Rekag system is a star system near Federation space. In the mid-24th century the system was experiencing a protracted and devastating civil war. In an effort to end the conflict, the USS Enterprise-D was dispatched to ferry Mediator Ves Alkar to the system to lead negotiations for a peace treaty.

The negotiations were ultimately successful, despite the revelation that Alkar's seeming tranquility was purchased at the price of severe psychic trauma to the women he used as "vessels" for his most negative thoughts. (TNG: "Man of the People")
