A report is a written or oral account of a situation that has occurred. After the situation, reports are typically placed in a computer file or record for later reference. Special types of reports are referred to as logs.
Among the duties of a yeoman was bringing reports to the captain as did yeoman J.M. Colt in 2254. (TOS: "The Cage")
