Richard I (a.k.a Richard the Lionheart or Coeur de Lion) was a 12th century King of England on Earth.
Marla McGivers adored men like Richard I and kept a painting of him in her quarters aboard the USS Enterprise. When Khan visited her quarters in 2267, he recognized Richard among her art collection of "bold men from the past." (TOS: "Space Seed")
