Richard "RS" Starkings (born 27 January 1962; age 46) is a comic book letter artist and font creator. He was born in Liverpool, England and moved to London in the 1980s to work for the UK division of Marvel Comics, a job he was hired for in 1984. In 1989, he moved to Los Angeles and worked freelance for both Marvel and DC Comics. In 1992, he co-founded Comicraft with John "JG" Roshell, a company that also employed Albert Deschesne and Dave Lanphear. Around that same time, he pioneered the art of digitally lettering comics issues in order to keep up with the demand.
In 2003, he and Roshell co-authored Comic Book Lettering: The Comicraft Way, which was released to great acclaim.
He worked on at least three issues of the Star Trek comics DC TNG volume 2 #50: "And Death Shall Have No Dominion" (with Bob Pinaha), DC TOS volume 2 #53: "Time Crime Part 1", and "Reality's End" (with Albert Deschesne).
