The Rutharian sector is a region of space in the Beta Quadrant, outside the United Federation of Planets. The USS Olympia crashed on a L-class planet in the Rutharian sector in 2371, when it was returning from its long-term exploratory mission. (DS9: "The Sound of Her Voice")
