In 1980, Mego released a 3 ¾" Saurian action figure as part of its second series; unfortunately, the company inadvertently called it a Rigellian. [1]

In an article appearing in the January 2002 edition of Star Trek: The Magazine Volume 2, Issue 9, entitled "Who is that Alien?", the following information about the Saurians, as taken from Fletcher's original background notes, added:

"These were a lizard-like people who were very intelligent and made excellent officers. They had the unusual ability to breathe several different gases, which made them useful members of landing parties. They were also very strong and had four hearts."

This information is not canon, but is considered to come from a Memory Alpha permitted resource.
