Sausalito is a small town just north of San Francisco on the continent of North America on Earth.

In the late 20th century, it was home to the Cetacean Institute and had approximately 8,000 residents. (Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home)

By the 2150s the Vulcan Compound, a Vulcan residential and diplomatic facility, was located in the town. (ENT: "Broken Bow")

After escaping prison, Arik Soong made it to Sausalito before the authorities recaptured him. (ENT: "Borderland")
