Seldonis IV Convention

The Seldonis IV Convention is a treaty governing the treatment of prisoners of war. Under this treaty, torture is expressly forbidden. Also, a person held by a treaty signatory can request the involvement of a designated "neutral representative" in his case. The United Federation of Planets and the Cardassian Empire are signatories of this treaty, although the Cardassian Empire has been known to violate it on several occasions.
