Self-destruct devices, used to destroy a ship when necessary, were sometimes found on Talarian observation craft.
During the Galen border conflicts, Talarian self-destruct devices, employing subspace proximity detonators, were responsible for more than two hundred Starfleet casualties. (TNG: "Suddenly Human")
